Hej, hello and guten Tag,

I’m Maike, a family photographer based in Ishøj.

I began my business years before becoming a mum and built my experience in portrait, couple, wedding and event photography.

 

I enjoy capturing real people and real connections. When I became pregnant myself, I natural moved deeper into maternity and family photography, and that is where I found my niche.

​

Now I combine professional experience with something you can’t learn from books. Being a mum teaches you patience, how to read children, and how to create a relaxed environment where people feel safe to be themselves. The best photos happen when no one feels pressured, and that applies to kids, adults and couples alike.

I am originally from Germany, married a Dane, and  speak English, German and Danish. We have a beautiful daughter (born 2021), so you stumble upon a lot of photos of her here on my portfolio as well. 

 

What drives me is not posing people into something they are not, but capturing personality, connection and the small moments in between.

Whether you are expecting a baby, need updated portraits, want relaxed family photos, or are celebrating a special event, I focus on natural photography that feels true to you.

And the name "Hedgehog Media"? A quirky homage to my cherished past, where my African Pygmy hedgehogs pets filled my world with joy.
